    Hi Lily,

Most of my newer albums are up.  I'm so far behind in putting up some of the places I visited recently.  If you have a chance to  view it i added a Darlene Love Concert.  All the pics there were used with the 5d mark III and a canon 70-200 2.8L is zoom.  The camera was designed for low light situations.  All photos are taken from a seat I was in.  The ISO is 10,000 with shutterspeeds of 800 and very low f-stops of 2.8 - 5.6.  The details were very good with low noise levels.  Hope you get a chance to browse them.  All the night photos of the NYC sky kine the same ways.    I'm happy your Mom is staying with you.  Is she staying with you perminatly?  Have a good day,  Scott

    Hi Lily,

Thank you for stopping by.  Hope your trip to China was good.  When Hurricane Sandy hit my area of the country I was lucky enough to have only lost power to my house and work for a week.  My job had many larger tree tops and a few trees come down.  It took us weeks to clear most of this up.  The winds were high there was not a lot of rain.  But the jersey shore and all low liareas took a beating. None of my family or friends got injured or lost any of their houses.  God kept his angles watch over us during this time.  I'm hoping to get some photos of the aftermath of the hurricane.  There are many buildings that are standing that were destroyed.  I may try that this next week end.  Hope all is well with you and your family.  Scott

      Scott,
It is great to hear from you especially to know that you and family are safe. I wait to see you new photos.  I am doing good too. My mother came with me two month ago to the US. She loves the warm weather in Arizona.

    Hi Lily,

Just wanted to let you know I have a new editing program that allows me to add many diffrent filters to a photo.  Its a plug in that works with the newer versions for photoshop from elements to ps-9.  The photo you like was taken in B&W.  I added the look o solarization.  I was able to make the details come out more clearly in this edit.  Glad you liked it.  have  agood day,  Scott

      Hi Lily,

I learned about solarization from my goddaughter.  It was used in developing photos on film processing.  I've seen it in her old b&w prints.  I do not know if nyip covers this anymore.  Solarization in photography is a reversal of a photo image.  It was done more in B&W processing on with the negative and paper used to process the negative to the paper.  When I was doing this to my photo it showed the time of how long a burn would be.  here is a link to the  program I downloaded you may like what this plug in can do in photoshop lightroom.    I have the color efex pro 4  and the silver efex pro 2.  They are great editing programs.  I still have much to learn in both of them.  Have a good day,  Scott

    Hi Lily

Wall Street was closed off due to occupy Wall Street.  The protesters did their best to disrupt people on Wall Street.  The Mayor reall did not know how to handle the situation.  The UN  has been doing work on the buildings.  Even when there are sessions going on the buildings are open for tourists.  We had the Occupy Wall Street group come to newark.  They camped out in a city park for 3 months.  They were very peaceful here. I've never been to Ca.  I lived in San Antionio TX when I was in the Air Force back in the 1980's.  Hope you have a great Sunday.  Scott

    Hi Lily,

Have not had much time to visit your albums.  Looks like you had fun at the UN.  You misssed my favorite statue to photo.  There is an interesting statue of the world in the main park.  The continents are very reflective and make for interesting distortions of the buildings around the UN.  I have a family member that accually was able to sit in the security council offices in the UN one day.  He is an actor and sat in the atbles where the diplomats sit.  He was in the Che Gurevirra movie a few years ago.  It was a great experience for him.  When I get more time I'll stop by and look at more photos.  Have a good day,  Scott

Hi, Scott, great to hear from you. Lesson 5 has taken me more than one year. I am going to mail it out this week. I made little progress recently, still reading the text for lesson 6. This summer was super hot this year. I am glad it is gone now. It is still a bit hot, but won't go over 100F anymore for sure. I just came back from New York last week. It was my first visit to the east. We went to Philadelphia and Boston as well. It is beautiful there, I wish I could stay longer. I am leaving for China and Taiwan again this Sunday. This time I will go with my husband. We will come back within three weeks. I will bring a second camera for my husband this time. When we were in New York he grasped my camera for most of the time. He likes taking photos too. He just doesn't like to learn how to use a camera. He took some very underexposed photos last time. How have you been? The fall color is one of the most attractive things for me. Best,Lily
